Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard because of the embedded Power BI content described below.
How we test this website
The Fraud Prevention Platform is built using the same website platform, rendering engine, templates and reusable components as the main NHS Counter Fraud Authority public website.
We test the shared website templates and components against WCAG 2.2 AA using both automated and manual accessibility testing.
We use Pa11y to carry out automated accessibility testing across the website. We also use Accessibility Insights for more detailed automated and manual testing of individual pages, templates and components.
Manual testing includes checking:
- keyboard navigation and focus order
- visible keyboard focus
- page structure and heading order
- links and accessible names
- screen reader semantics
- colour contrast
- zoom and reflow
- responsive layouts
- tables and interactive components where used
New and significantly changed templates, components and pages are accessibility tested as part of our publishing and assurance process.
Non-accessible content
Embedded Power BI reports
Some pages within the Fraud Prevention Platform contain interactive reports embedded using Microsoft Power BI.
Power BI includes built-in accessibility features such as keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, high-contrast display options, focus mode and the ability to display data in a table.
Microsoft provides accessibility guidance for using Power BI. However, the accessibility of an individual report can also depend on how that report has been designed and configured, including the use of alternative text, colour contrast, meaningful visual titles and the order in which report elements receive keyboard focus.
We have not yet completed a full WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility assessment of every embedded Power BI report. There may therefore be accessibility issues within individual embedded reports that are not present in the surrounding Fraud Prevention Platform website.
We are reviewing the accessibility of embedded Power BI content and will use Microsoft's Power BI accessibility guidance when reports are created or updated.
