Information requested
I write to request a breakdown of reported cases of fraud inside the NHS.
I would ask that it includes a breakdown by the 123 types of fraud known to the NHSCFA.
I would also ask for the data to cover the last 5 years and for it to be supplied in a spreadsheet format.

A spreadsheet of the data with a breakdown of the number of reports received in each category of fraud is attached.
Please note that the following applies to the data:
The data includes all reports received directly to NHS Counter Fraud Authority or via Local Counter Fraud Specialists.
The data does not include any reports categorised as “No Fraud Against the NHS”.
Although NHS Counter Fraud Authority publishes 123 categories of fraud on the organisation’s website, for internal categorisation there exists a greater number of categories. For every fraud type the organisation uses an “Other” category.
For example, a category for “Employee – False Declaration” with various options for the type of false declaration, within the ‘other’ category are reports which cannot be categorised within the ‘types’ of false declaration.
