NHSCFA case to feature on BBC Crimewatch Live

One of the NHSCFA's most successful cases will feature next week in an episode of BBC Crimewatch Live.

One of the most successful cases brought to court by the Counter Fraud Authority features on national TV next week in an episode of BBC Crimewatch Live.

In the programme Senior Investigation Officers Mark Howard and Gemma Quemby talk about the recent successful Operation Bukowski case where more than five years of their investigation work led to three convictions for theft, fraud, and bribery with a total value of more than £600,000.

CEO Alex Rothwell will also be interviewed live on the programme talking about the NHSCFA and how it fights to prevent fraud, bribery, and corruption in the NHS.

The outcome of the Bukowski case was that one man pleaded guilty at St Albans Crown Court, but two others pleaded not guilty. Following a two-month court case in St Albans they were found guilty on all charges and were sentenced to 11 years and 28 months respectively. Eleven-year sentence for fraud and bribery against the NHS (go2.oak.com)

The programme is scheduled for 10am on Tuesday 17 October on BBC1 and will be available after transmission on BBC iPlayer.
