This report presents findings and recommendations from the PO vs non-PO spend exercise, which examined fraud risk vulnerability within NHS spend and identifies savings for NHS provider organisations. It also explores how a national fraud prevention campaign on the prevention of procurement fraud influenced positive behavioural change across the NHS and led to reductions in financial vulnerability within non-PO expenditure.
This report presents findings and recommendations from the Covid-19 PEA exercise, which examined NHS spending behaviours at a local level during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic. Findings also identifies that good practice across NHS procurement landscape saved millions of pounds during an unprecedented and challenging time. It also found that despite the mounting, varied and complex operational pressures, most NHS organisations maintained good levels of financial governance, assurance, transparency, and fraud risk management.
